Quick start

  1. Open Aurora Care from your desktop or Start menu.
  2. Look for the large status message at the top.
  3. If it says You’re Protected, Aurora Care is ready.
  4. If it says Needs one step, follow the on-screen instructions.
  5. Use the help button when something feels confusing or unsafe.

What the status messages mean

  • You’re Protected: Aurora Care is ready.
  • Needs one step: One part still needs your permission or attention.
  • Off: Protection is turned off.
  • Not subscribed: The app is not connected to an active paid plan.
Calm rule: If a required step did not finish, Aurora Care should not pretend everything is fully ready.

When Windows asks for permission

Some computer care steps need Windows to approve the change.

  1. Aurora Care will show: Windows needs your permission.
  2. Wait for the Windows permission box.
  3. Click Yes when Windows asks.
  4. If you clicked No by mistake, choose Try again.
Aurora should not keep asking over and over. If permission is denied, it should show that one step still needs permission.

My browser keeps showing messages

Use this when websites keep sending pop-up messages after someone clicked Allow.

  1. Open Aurora Care.
  2. Choose My browser keeps showing messages.
  3. If your browser is open, close it first.
  4. Run the cleanup.
  5. Aurora should only say it cleaned something if it actually did.

Sign in and plan

Sign in with the email used for your Aurora Care plan. After signing in, Aurora can show your plan name and support options.

  • Not subscribed: No active paid plan found.

Getting support

Choose the support option that best matches what happened. You do not need to know the right technical words.

Common questions

Will signing out turn protection off?

No. Signing out should clear the account session only. Local protection choices should stay on the computer.

What should I do if a caller says my computer has a problem?

Do not give them control of your computer. Do not pay them. Open Aurora Care and ask for help.

Why does Aurora say “Working on it…”?

Aurora is finishing a requested step. Wait for it to complete before clicking again.

Quick start

  1. Open Aurora Browser.
  2. Type a website or search words in the address bar.
  3. Use Favorites for websites you visit often.
  4. When Aurora warns you, stop and read the message before continuing.

Buttons and toolbar

  • Back: Return to the previous page.
  • Forward: Go forward again after going back.
  • Refresh: Reload the current page.
  • Home: Return to your home page.
  • Favorites: Save or open important websites.
  • History: View pages you recently visited.
  • Downloads: View files you downloaded.
  • Options: Change browser choices.

When a page does not look safe

Aurora Browser may show: This page doesn’t look safe or We stopped something unsafe.

  • Choose Go back when you did not expect the page.
  • Use Allow once only when you are sure and only need it this time.
  • Use Trust website only for websites you recognize and want remembered.
Do not trust a website just because it looks official. If something feels rushed, scary, or confusing, go back.

Favorites

Favorites make everyday websites easier to reach.

  1. Open the website.
  2. Click the star or Add Favorite button.
  3. Give it a name you recognize.
  4. Open it later from Favorites.

Less Ads and Ad Privacy

Less Ads On helps reduce page clutter and many common ads.

Ad Privacy On helps reduce ads that follow recent browsing activity.

Some large websites control their own sponsored posts. Aurora can reduce many ads, but not every sponsored item can be removed.

Downloads and website messages

If a file starts downloading and you were not expecting it, do not open it.

If a website asks to send messages, only allow it when you truly want messages from that website.

Common questions

What does Allow once mean?

It opens the page this time only. It does not save the website as trusted.

What does Trust website mean?

It tells Aurora Browser to remember that you trust the website.

What is Private Browsing?

It helps keep pages from that window from being saved in the usual way on this computer after the window closes.

Quick start

  2. Add your email account if this is the first time.
  3. Wait for Aurora Mail to prepare your mail.
  4. Use Inbox, Today, and VIP to find messages.

Inbox layout

  • Inbox: Your main email.
  • Today: Messages from today.
  • VIP: Messages from people you marked important.
  • Archive: Keep a message without leaving it in the inbox view.
  • Junk: Unwanted messages.
  • Folders: Other mail folders from your account.

Message actions

  • New Email: Write a new message.
  • Reply: Answer the sender.
  • Forward: Send the message to someone else.
  • Archive: Keep the message but move it out of the inbox view.
  • Junk: Move unwanted mail.
  • VIP: Mark the sender as important.
  • Print: Print a clean copy.

Safer email choices

Use extra care when an email asks you to click, pay, sign in, or open a file.

  • If you were not expecting a file, do not open it.
  • If a message rushes you, stop and read it again.
  • If an email says an account has a problem, go to the website yourself instead of clicking the email link.
  • If you are unsure, ask for help first.

Contacts and senders

Use Manage Contacts to organize people and senders.

  • Contacts: People you know.
  • VIP Senders: Important people.
  • Blocked Senders: People or addresses you do not want to hear from.
  • Junk choices: Move one message, block future messages, or remove messages from that sender.

Email accounts

Aurora Mail is designed for major email providers and standard email accounts.

  • Gmail and Google Workspace
  • Outlook, Hotmail, and Microsoft 365
  • Yahoo and iCloud
  • Xfinity, Wave, AT&T, and other standard email accounts
Some providers require an extra sign-in step. Aurora Mail should explain that in plain language during setup.

Common questions

What does Archive mean?

Archive keeps the email but removes it from the inbox view. It is not the same as deleting.

What is VIP?

VIP is for important people whose messages you want to find quickly.

Should I open an attachment?

Only open files you were expecting from someone you trust.

Why does first setup take time?

Aurora Mail may be preparing saved mail for the first time. After that, normal checks should be faster.

When a page does not look safe

  1. Stop and read the message.
  2. Do not call numbers shown on a scary page.
  3. Do not enter passwords or payment information.
  4. Choose Go back when you are unsure.

Website messages

Some websites ask to send messages. If you click Allow, those messages may keep appearing later.

  • Only allow messages from websites you truly want to hear from.
  • If messages keep popping up, open Aurora Care and choose My browser keeps showing messages.
  • If Chrome or Edge is open, close the browser before cleanup.

Trust website and Allow once

Trust website remembers a website as trusted.

Allow once opens the website this time only.

Use Trust website only for websites you recognize and use on purpose.

Common questions

Does the desktop app need to be open?

No. Normal browser protection should keep working locally. If Aurora Care is open, it may show helpful tray notifications.

Why did it warn me about a website?

The page did not look safe. Go back if you were not expecting it.

What if I trusted a site by mistake?

Open the extension or Aurora settings and remove the site from trusted websites.
